Grand Rapids recently hosted the largest art competition in the world (at least that is what they said on the news). Jim, Ronan, and I took an afternoon and looked at as much art as we could in 3 hours. There were thousands of art entries, so we didn't really see much of it at all. We had a great time. Jim wasn't too keen on going, but he admitted that it was really cool. Ronan was a little trooper and slept most of the time in his stroller.

The Nessie Project was one of the top ten exhibits. It was pretty cool to see. I think it got 7th place and won $7000.00. There is talk that it might stay in town.

These portraits were made entirely out of primary colored push pins. We voted for this exhibit. It ended up getting 3rd place and winning $50,000.

In this exhibit you could make a city block by putting 4 blocks together. I only put 2 together. Just an FYI: One of my pet peeves is when people call a pharmacy a drug store! It is like calling a pharmacist a druggist. Oy!!
Jim and RJ in front of the Ford Museum. The art here was propelled by the water and you could see a running horse in the wheel. It took me quite a while to see it. I am kind of broken when it comes to those things.
