14-15 Months

Ronan, you are 15 months old now! You are growing "So BiG" (and when we say So Big you put up your little arms and smile). You definitely have your own little personality. If I had to choose one parent who you are most like, it would be Mom (because you are sassy)! You are very smart and like to talk. You can say: Dada, Papa (Grandpa), Nugget, Ball, Shoes, all done, please, more, light (still sounds like ball), book (sounds alot like ball), and probably a few others that Mom can't think of right now. You can sign: all done, please, eat, more. If we ask you, you can turn off the light, get your shoes or point to them, point to your nose, show us your socks, and point to Nugget and other family members. You love to read and look at books. Every night you will empty your bin full of books and have Mom or Dad read them to you. Your favorites are still "F is for Farm, Snuggle Puppy, Ten Little Ladybugs, and Good Morning-Good Night". You also love the Baby Einstein books Auntie Linds/Uncle Greg bought for you. You love to push the buttons and make them play the songs.
You still look more like Mom, but you are tall like Dada and have his long back. Your eyes are still blue, but they aren't light blue like Dada's. They are dark blue with some brown/green in the middle. Maybe your eyes will be more like Mom's too. You had your 15 month doctor's appt and you were 33.5 inches tall (97th percentile) and weighed 26 lbs 4 oz (75th percentile). You got 4 shots and only cried right after you got them for about 15 seconds. You didn't get sick at all and weren't fussy. Mom had to go to a dentist appt. after your appt. and you actually slept the entire time.

You did a lot of different things in the past 2 months. You played with your friend Reese Whitman after Mom had book club. You and Reese tore up toilet paper and tried to eat it. What fun!!
Reese got you hooked on these little Gerber Graduate snacks that are the garden tomato flavor. They make your breath stink, but you love them.
You like to look out the windows. You and Nug are quite the pair. As you can see, you are doing fabulous drinking out of your sippy cup. Mom stopped nursing you in the middle of October. We made it 14.5 months!! Now you love your milk (no juice because it gives you the runs) and water. You are still a big eater. Sometimes you eat 2 string cheeses, a piece of bread, peas, and yogurt in one sitting! You love fruit and some veggies (corn, peas, green beans). You like to feed yourself and will sometimes spit things out if we try to put it in your mouth, but you eat it if you pick it up. We are practicing with a spoon. You can make quite a mess with it.
We went to see the 2nd Annual GR ArtPrize on 10/17/10. It was a beautiful day. You liked to ride in your stroller and look at everyone. We made it about 3 hours and then it was time to eat. Here are you and Dada by one of the top 10 entries.GRRRR.
You went on your first carousel ride with Mom. You weren't so sure about it, really.
We tried 2 different animals. You didn't like either of them.
We went up to the cottage to visit Gpa and Gma Staat. We made our annual trip to Klackle's Orchard. You got on your Halloween costume. You looked so cute as a little sheriff.
You were a little happier than last year getting your picture by the pumpkins.

With your grandparents.
You were fussin' here. I think because you wanted to keep watching the pony rides.
You liked the elephant. You can't tell by the picture, but you were pointing and laughing at her.
On October 21, you got the chance to be a sheriff once again. You and Mom got together with Mom's college roommates and their boys. We had a great time. It was so good to see everyone. We went to Boo at the Zoo in Battle Creek. We got to trick-or-treat and see some animals. You rode on another carousel and didn't like it again. We'll keep trying. Here you are with Renee and Jude, you, Lucas and Joshua, and Trevor.
Fun, fun, fun!!

You liked the little, fat goats. Mom did too.

Candy! You are like Dada in that respect. You like candy. I am not quite sure why we let you have some in the first place, but I will blame that on Dada.

You are showing off your chips here. You have 10 chips right now, with 2 more molars coming in on the bottom. You can really chew. I am sometimes worried that when you are giving us kisses, that you will bite us with your chompers, but you haven't yet. You have bitten your lip when falling a few times. Lots of blood and tears, but you are just fine.

We got some new check-in sheets at daycare, so the girls aren't writing as much as they did before. Here is a few days recap of what you are learning there:

9/14/10 Nap 1210-110pm. Played with cool whip and in water. Read books and coutned. 15 minute massage. Signed "sad". Ate cheerios and milk, corn dog, applesauce, and tater tots. (BTW I was told you loved the corn dogs. Once again, just like Mom!)

10/8/10 Nap 1145-105 Played in the activity tent, sang Twinkle Twinkle, and read bible stories. 15 minute massage. Learned the "help, please, and more" signs. Ate rice krispies, pizza breasticks, oranges, carrots. Had graham crackers and a rice krispie treat for a snack (non of the kids liked the rice krispie treats. They were too sticky. Mom ate one though!)

10/22/10 Nap 1150-120pm Hid hands under oatmeal, played peek-a-boo, played with oatmeal and read books. Signed "book". Ate rice krispies, chicken bites, carrots, oranges. Had animal crackers and vanilla wafers as snacks.

More Halloween pictures to come!!
