4 Months

Ronan, you are 4 months old (already)! I can't believe how fast these last 4 months have gone by. Every day I look at you and think, "You are just the cutest thing I have every seen and I can't believe that you are ours!"

Mom went back to work this month and that has been hard for her. It really has been good to get back to work and use my brain, but I miss you so much that sometimes it hurts. The good thing has been that Dad has been home with you the whole time. I can just call home and hear how your day has been and what you have been doing. You seem to be happy when mom comes home and you aren't too mad when I wake you up in the morning to feed you and just to see you a little bit before I go to work. (I know, never wake a sleeping baby, but I just can't resist!)

You have been sleeping through the night for at least 2 months. You don't like to take naps, though. The only time you will take a long nap is when you are sleeping on Mom or Dad. It usually works out okay because we love to sit there with you and watch TV. (I know, TV is bad for kids-Oh well!)

Sleeping on Daddy.

I would tell you how much you are eating per day, but I don't know! Dad feeds you a few breast-milk bottles per day, but Mom is still nursing whenever she can. Soon you will start your rice cereal (after our doctors appt on Dec. 3). Apparently you are getting enough food, because you weigh about 17.5 lbs. We are interested to see if you are still in the 100th percentile in weight/height.

You like to go for walks with Mom and Nugget (aka Sissy). You get in your little carrier and bob away, looking at everything with those big eyes.

You like to be held and you don't like to be away from the action. When we eat dinner, you need to be right there by us. We usually put your bumbo seat on the dining room table and then you watch us. Soon you will be in your high chair!

Auntie Lindsey holding you.
You have become a champion car rider. We have gone back and forth to PH at least 3 times. You've also been to the Cottage, Ikea, Traverse City, Frankenmuth, South Haven and many other closer places (like the mall and Target) a bunch of times. The only time you might cry is when we stop for gas and you realize you are hungry. Last time Mom fed you in a Kroger parking lot while Dad and Mom ate delicious Burger King. Dad also had to run into Kroger to buy diapers for you! Whoops!

We discovered that you like your exersaucer and swing this month. You will also play in what Mom calls your play-gym. (Not sure if this is the technical term). You are actually discoving toys and things sitting on the table (like ketchup and silverware), so we have to be a bit more careful now.

You are wearing mostly 3-6 month clothes, although you have outgrown some of them. One of your cute 3-6 month dress shirts would not button at the neck, so Dad had to leave 2 buttons undone when he put you in it. That double-chin of yours was in the way! You are wearing size 2 diapers, but you have almost grown out of them. Mom and Dad bought a HUGE box of size 3 diapers from Costco, so we are prepared.

You are putting everything in your mouth and drooling a lot, so we think you might have some teeth coming. You haven't rolled over yet, but you are about 90% there. We keep pushing you to be left handed (like Mom and Dad), but we are seeing any trends yet. Don't worry, we'll still love you just at much if you are right handed.

You love bath time. Mom is the cleaner and Dad is the one who plays with you and squirts you with the sprayer on the kitchen sink. He thinks it is funny to squirt you in the face, which Mom yells at him about. Dad also puts the suds all over your face, which Mom yells at him about.
